So I thought I would blog today. My solitary retreat must end and to be honest, we might have two Grandmas spontaneously combust if they don't get an update on our blog's favorite face (i.e. the 3.5 year old who is still NOT potty-trained. I officially give up people. I have tried bribery, incentives, guilt, bandwagoning, peer pressure, and anything else dirty, low, and rotten. Aahhh! Congress works quicker than this. Ok--not really. I exaggerated. I know, I know he'll just decide when he's ready. Well, twenty is coming, and I don't think Mr. Calaway is going to pay for diapers through college. Yikes. I digressed. . .)
So here are the pics:
So here are the pics:

and here are the top five thoughts circulating through my brain (plenty of space up there):
1. I stink at this staying in touch thing. Good thing my friends know this about me--and will readily forgive that I haven't blogged or called in like a month. Sorry. [head hanging down]
2. How in the heck did Harry Reed manage to weasel himself back into the power play again?
3. Hot chocolate--mmmmmm! I think I'll go make some. Two words people--cocamotion machine. You have not lived until you try hot chocolate from this machine-go to Walmart and gift yourself one for the holidays. Delish.
4. My kid refuses to potty-train and hands me fresh boogers at church. Where did I go wrong?
5. and last of all--What am I going to make for dinner? 4:00 is upon me. dang.

First LOVE those pictures, he looks darling!
Second your post cracks me up!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now, if I could just kiss that cute little nose and touch that sweet little face! Keep the pictures coming!
Love,
Grammy Tammy
Love the real-life-thoughts... completely random and unedited! And I totally second the cocoamotion notion... what a delightful little invention!!
good to see you're back!
and oh, that boy! talk about delish....
my 4 year old was super proud of himself for---washing his hands after using the bathroom. really, we taught this a year and a half ago and is still not sinking in
I have similar thoughts. Also Collin refused to be potty trained but luckily accomplished it just before starting sunbeams. There's your goal now.
I love my cocoa motion and I'm HORRIBLE about staying in touch other than a few CLOSE friends/sibling. And I just barely decided what's for dinner and this is a good day.
Looking forward to seeing you next month.
I am probably the WORST at staying in touch with friends!
I can't decide which state I would move out of first, Nevada or California!! ARE THOSE PEOPLE EVEN AWAKE??
The only better thing than hot chocolate is hot choco out of the Cocomotion machine. I know, you can't just say it normally. It has to have a little jive to it.
The whole potty training and booger thing is something you will laugh at down the road.
What is for dinner? German pancakes are always the quick go to dinner in our house, right Blaine?
I agree with Grammy Tammy, I want to jump through my computer and kissssssssssssss those cheeks!
Love you and miss you!!
i like you.
Potty training is horrible! Krew could care less. We are trying a little with Mady, but this morning after getting her out of the bath she decided to poop on the floor! Just wonderful! I miss you!
Don't ever ask me for potty training advice! Not to discourage you, but I am still working every day on it with Cason. He is lazy and has informed me that he likes being wet! I can tell him go potty you need to go and he will say no! I drag him into the toliet stand there with him kicking and screaming and basically force him to go. He has the smallest bladder ever and could go every 30 min. Some days we do lots and lots of laundry.Luckily today was a stay dry day. He started training pretty early well for me at about 2 1/2 and i though oh awesome he is going to be soooo easy. Well then three came along and then 3 1/2 and well he is the most stuborn kid alive and just refuses to go just to make me mad! I had him tested this week for diabetes because people were telling me maybe that is what he has because he drinks so much and constantly is peeing. Luckily he doesn't. So I can really get mad at him now! With time it will come!!! Cason at least has #2 down 100% and I can handle the wet but not the other. And as for Cooper well you don't want to know either. I didn't know if he would ever figure it out and I could tell you hand over fist stories that you do not want to know! And you know what? I have already started forgetting them! It's amazing how fast you forget once they finally get it down!! It makes me ill to my stomach when someone tells me how easy their boy was to train and how you just do this method! I want to say ok here is my kid, tell me if it works for you! Sorry to ramble, but just know I FEEL your pain!! Luckily he is so stinkin cute that it doesn't matter! Your pics are adorable and I love reading your blog! Hope you are enjoying your fall back there!!
