Day 33: I Love Lucy

Sorry Lisa--not the same Lucy. LOL.

Every couple of weeks I get a call from my nurse Lucy. She asks how I'm doing, how Blaine is doing and lets me know she is thinking about me. What an example.

Years ago Lucy opted to attend the bereavement classes being held to train nurses on dealing with patients like us who lose a child. Thank heaven she did. Lucy gave the TLC program that existed at St. Joseph's a complete makeover. I am probably one of hundreds that Lucy calls/writes/emails/etc.

I told Lucy the last time we chatted that she is the Brett Favre of nurses. She is 'supposed' to be retired but she cannot stay away. Maybe this is the last year for both of them. . .I won't hold my breath.

I am convinced our experience losing Shiloh would have been totally different if we didn't have Lucy. We are both so grateful that she took the time to go down this difficult road with us, and that she continues to extend her love and care. We could all do with some more Lucys out there.

I just love Lucy.

Hey Hillary,
Did you end up going to WI Dells? I am glad that when you posted a pic of Brett you posted him in his Packer's uniform and not the Vikings... (or Jets...) That is how we in Wisconsin like to always remember him. :)
