I Just Love Lemons

Yesterday I watched a Glenn Beck show where he challenged his viewers for the next forty days to regain the honor in their lives, to fill themselves with 'faith, hope, and charity'. I realized today that I had done that very thing while on bed rest with Shiloh. (A brownie for you Hill!) For forty days I had worked to develop an 'attitude of gratitude', to see the glass half-full, recommitting myself to living more fully the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And then my son died. . .

And I thought, do I cease rendering God thanks, do I slacken my efforts to live His law because things didn't go as I had hoped?

NO.

So, for the next forty days I am recommitting to making lemonade from life's lemons, to praising Him who 'gave, and [He who] hath taken away' (Job 1:21). What can it hurt?

And I am challenging you to do the same. That's right--YOU. Slap a Pollyanna "Glad Game" sticker on your hinny and join in. Get a piece of paper, heck-get a blog and start writing down what it is that you are thankful for the next forty days of your life. By August 31st you'll have a nice stack of entries detailing the Lord's hand in your life. Hmm, you might think about sharing those compositions with the people you love. I did. And apparently it helped some of them.

Just something to think about.

(P.S. Plus I promise to use more pictures this go around--just thinkin' of you Cassie and Craig--we know how you roll! haha)

See ya'll tomorrow!

I resent that! I happen to read them- because I then have to explain to Craig what is going on in your life. But you are right he does check blogs daily for pictures. We miss and love you guys! I have NO friends here...just waiting for someone.

Beautiful, Hillary. The first thing I will express gratitude for is my grandsons whom I miss and would like to see more pictures of (hint, hint!).

This is my plan Hill....tomorrow, I am going to have a blogging marathon...meaning I am going to finally get caught up on all of my blogging. Then, I am gong to take on your challenge. Thanks! I am excited for this challenge! You inspire me!
