Hard to be a Hero

Colton has got character. . .lots of them, actually.

For about a week he immersed himself in the world of Charlotte's Web.  He was Wilbur and I was Charlotte.  Then we switched to Laura and Mary out of Little House in the Big Woods (phew, thank heavens Dad didn't see that phase--he was in Indiana on business).  Next we were Transformers, and every car we passed was appropriately labeled 'Octo-mus Pwime' or a 'Decepticon'.  And then last week during a bed time story of Lewis and Clark he decidedly declared right before closing his tired eyes, "Mom [yawn], we are no longer Transformers--we are Indians!  You are Sacajawea, I am your papoose John-Baptiste, and Dad is Charbonnea".

Then Saturday he switched it up to the Marvel character Thor (his pronunciation comes out more like, "Sore"), deeming me his girlfriend Jane Foster and Dad 'some guy in the show' (you have to love that phase where you are the only woman in your little man's life!).

Anyway, yesterday at church he excitedly told our choir director, "I'm MIGHTY 'SORE'!" to which she replied, "Oh, I'm sorry.  I hope you get feeling better".

It's hard to be a hero sometimes.

I love that you read him such a variety of stories! I'm sure he loves it too. He's such a smart little guy. We can't wait to see you guys in a couple weeks!

Colton - that is such a cool helmet and cape! I wish I could be there to see you be Thor! But I think I would want to be Grandma Zuckerman still. Love you!
