(thank you to the Knickerbocker Family for Colt's turtle bank)
Today was Colton's first official tithing settlement and we had the opportunity to talk about Malachi and what exactly tithing is and why we do it. I showed Colt my wedding ring and told him how when Daddy wanted to buy that ring he had just enough money to buy the ring or to pay his tithing and that Daddy chose to pay his tithing; and how Daddy and I saw the windows of heaven pour out blessings when shortly after writing his tithing check an unexpected bonus from work arrived in the mail with the exact amount needed to pay for the ring. I told Colton that whenever I look at my ring I think about that and how Daddy loved me so much that he chose to love the Lord most.

We counted out Colt's pennies, nickels, and dimes and discussed 1/10th. We talked about how paying his tithing was a choice that would allow him to go to the temple someday and serve a mission like Uncle Devin, and Great Grandma Jane and all of his Uncles and Grandpa's.
Because in this family, we LOVE missionaries!

Adorable. That boy is absolutely adorable.
So cute! And what a lucky boy he is to have so many good examples to show him what is right.
