John Deere Green

We spent Easter weekend in Washington attending the funeral for Blaine's Grandpa Calaway. I told my father-in-law that the thing I loved most about Val was that he had this unique ability to make everyone feel special, and if you thought you were something special he'd knock you down a couple notches. I have felt his influence in the short time I've been a part of the family--I treasured going on pickup rides just the two of us when Blaine and the boys would be working around Mattawa and getting to talk with him. Isn't it amazing what one honest man using his agency for good can accomplish? Devin expressed it best--I just want to be good because of him.

On a lighter note--Colton got spoiled by Grandpa Calaway with his own set of tractors which he hasn't stopped playing with since. He loves them!! Blaine is officially psyched about this whole fatherhood thing now. Don't get me wrong--he's always loved being a Dad but this is when the real fun begins and I think he's on the brink of breaking into a second childhood. A boy and his toys. . .

Colton looks so much like Collin loving those tractors so early on. Collin used to line them all up before he was even 2. I feel the same way as Devin . . I need to be a better person b/c of Val's example.
